Liverpool's new American owners want Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher to sign on the dotted line at Anfield for life.

Steven Gerrard has told his England team-mates to stop hiding behind excuses and start proving they can be giants of the international game.

Real Madrid have set their sights on luring Jose Mourinho from Chelsea after Rafael Benitez finally pledged his future to Liverpool.

Rafael Benitez has vowed to resist the anticipated lure of Real Madrid after receiving assurances from Liverpool's new owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks that substantial transfer funds would be placed at his disposal this summer.

Rafa the gaffer to stay, Bellamy to link up with O'Neil?

Rafael Benitez insists he will stay at Liverpool amid speculation that Real Madrid want him as their next manager.

O'Neill will be handed a £30million warchest to strengthen the Aston Villa squad in the summer. Craig Bellamy, Steve Sidwell and David Nugent are among O'Neill's targets.

Liverpool have been given the go-ahead from FIFA to sign Argentina midfielder Javier Mascherano from West Ham on loan.

Liverpool are lining up a late treble swoop on the final day of the transfer window - defender Alvaro Arbeloa will join from Deportivo, Malaga midfielder Francisco Duran will sign and Javier Mascherano will also make the switch from West Ham, subject to FIFA dispensation.

Scunthorpe United have accepted a £6.8 Million Pound bid from Liverpool FC for Billy Clarke.

Henrik Pederson is at Mellwood, prearing to be swapped with Harry Kewell.

Not sure about the validity of the rumour mill ones - I think they might be nonsense!

Liverpool are set to acquire the services of promising Spanish midfielder Francis Duran from Second Division team Malaga.

Deportivo La Coruna defender Alvaro Arbeloa is excited by the prospect of joining Liverpool - and feels his exit "will help" the Spanish club.

Get in, Rafa looks to have signed us an army of young talent - athough Arbeloa is 24 and looks to be back up for Stevie Finnan.

Could You’ll Never Walk Alone top the charts again?

Liverpool FC fans, marshalled on the club’s official Web site, have launched a campaign to get Gerry and the Pacemakers’ classic recording of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” to the top of the British single charts.

The campaign follows the restructuring of the chart to allow download sales to be reflected in the official top 40. “We believe that only 2,500 sales are required to enter the charts,” explained a spokesman for the campaign. “However, around 40,000 sales should easily allow us to reach number one. That’s the target and we are convinced it can be done. It’s a great song and the tradition of the Kop deserves nothing less.”

The fans behind the project are calling on Liverpool supporters to have one less pint before the game and download the song instead. Enquiries from the media can be posted on the LFC message board at
